This model series draws inspiration from two of China’s most celebrated traditional architectural treasures and blends their essence into a single creation:
- The Weilong House: Capturing the quintessential design of Hakka walled residences—“circular enclosure, communal living”—the layout features an octagonal outer building surrounding a circular inner structure, faithfully recreating the architectural aesthetic of “round exterior, square interior.”
- The Bagua Culture: The inner ring incorporates the Taiji yin-yang motif, echoing the traditional village’s feng shui principle of “arranging according to the Bagua and harmonizing with the yin and yang of heaven and earth,” seamlessly integrating architecture with philosophical symbolism.
The overall design is rooted in the Hui-style architectural tradition of white walls and dark-tiled roofs, with a black-and-white color scheme that captures the understated elegance of ancient villages, serving as a miniature reinterpretation of traditional architectural aesthetics and folk culture.
II. Model Structure and 3D Printing Details
1. Modular Design: The model is divided into four major modules—the outer wall, the inner walled enclosure, the roof tiles, and the base platform—allowing for separate printing and easy assembly while significantly reducing printing complexity and support requirements.
2. Fine Texture Reproduction: The roof tiles are printed using layered texturing to accurately replicate the tactile texture of traditional cylindrical tiles; wall and door/window details are rendered with exceptional clarity, and the proportions of elements such as steps and doorways are precisely maintained, ensuring a seamless fit upon assembly.
3. Lighting-Ready Design: An LED light slot is预留 at the base of the inner walled enclosure, and translucent gaps are left between the base and the walls. When illuminated, light shines through these openings, perfectly simulating the warm glow of nighttime lanterns in an ancient village.
III. LED Lighting Effects and Creative Uses
When paired with an LED light base, the model’s atmospheric impact is instantly amplified:
- In warm-light mode, the Taiji pattern in the inner ring is softly illuminated, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow against the white walls and dark tiles of the outer structure, evoking the timeless glow emanating from the courtyard of a Weilong House.
- Light diffuses outward through the gaps in the walls, casting soft shadows across the tabletop and recreating the tranquil ambiance of a night in an ancient village.
- The model also supports RGB lighting, allowing users to switch colors to suit different settings, whether for desk decoration, ambient lighting at night, or other creative applications.
