SUMMARY

I printed Budina's CS:GO Butterfly Knife model, but I found it felt a bit loose during use (the screws were too thin for the holes, leaving some play in the parts).
So, I tested different screw sizes and redesigned some parts to make the action smoother and more comfortable. Here are my updated files!

I separated the model into 3 print plates:

  • Plate 1: The blade

  • Plate 2: The handles / blade holders

  • Plate 3: All the screws and small assembly parts

Additionally, my profile is set up for 2 colors. Separating the parts by color reduces toolhead changes and saves time (around 3 hours total for everything on my Centauri Carbon 2).

Post-Printing

1. Assembly

For both handles, connect the sides using the holder pins and pin ends, placing a spacer between them in the bottom holes.
Next, take the end-stop pins and insert them into the front and back holes at the base of the blade.
Slide the handle over the corresponding hole on the blade, then use a pin and pin end to secure it in place.

(See the assembly picture in the gallery above)

2. Securing the Pins

Once the printed screws/pins are in place, carefully heat the "Pin-Holder_End" using a lighter or heat gun to gently fuse it to the pin holder.
This step is necessary to prevent the pins from popping out during use.
Please watch your fingers and be careful not to burn yourself! ;-;

Using a heat gun can be a bit tricky; I recommend using a lighter for better precision so you don't accidentally melt the surrounding parts.
