The "Bio-Lume" Generative Desk Lamp

This design explores the intersection of algorithmic growth and functional lighting. Inspired by the cellular structures of deep-sea flora, this lamp uses a dual-layered geometry to create a complex play of shadows. The inner core acts as a high-intensity diffuser, while the outer "petals" catch the light to showcase the unique 3D-printed texture.

🛠️ Print Settings

To achieve the translucent "frozen" look seen in the photos, I recommend the following:

• Material: PETG or PLA (Translucent/Clear for the body, Wood or Matte for the base).
• Layer Height: 0.16mm – 0.2mm (Higher resolution helps with the organic curves).
• Infill: 0% (Designed to be printed as a hollow shell for maximum light transmission).
• Wall Loops: 1-2 (Adjust based on how much "glow" you want to bleed through).
• Supports: Not required! The geometry is optimized with self-supporting angles.

🔌 Assembly & Hardware

The base is designed to fit standard, off-the-shelf LED kits:

1. LED Source: Fits a standard 60mm LED puck light or a generic USB-powered LED strip coil.
2. Base Fit: The main body press-fits into the base for easy access to the electronics.
3. Safety Note: Always use LED bulbs to prevent heat buildup within the plastic housing.
