Hello everyone,
This is by far the most complex model I’ve ever designed, and I’m truly very satisfied with the result.
The sculpture depicts a BMW M3 covered by a blanket. The car rests on a hexagonal base plate. What makes it particularly striking is that the fabric of the car seamlessly transitions into the base plate, giving the entire piece a futuristic look.
The creation process:
First, I used AI to generate a rough model of a BMW M3. I then further refined and adjusted this model in Blender. After that, I designed the base plate in Autodesk Fusion.
Next, I imported everything back into Blender, arranged the components, and created a cloth simulation that slowly draped over the car. This was followed by several post-processing steps: the cloth had to be converted into a 3D-printable solid body and integrated with the base plate.
Since I had no prior experience with this workflow, it took seven attempts before everything worked correctly.
Finally, I exported the model as an STL file, loaded it into Bambu Studio, and assigned colors there.
The entire model can be printed without any support structures.
The print time is approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes.
I’m eager to hear your feedback and hope you like my model—it’s my first project of this kind.
