The medusa’s body is umbrella‑shaped, typically exhibiting radial symmetry with four main arms, and is often transparent, ranging in size from a few millimeters to over 2 meters. Water makes up the majority of its composition, with water content generally exceeding 95%. The edge of the umbrella is frequently adorned with tentacles that resemble filaments—some of these tentacles can extend to lengths exceeding 20 meters. Jellyfish lack a brain, skeleton, heart, blood, gills, or other specialized organs; they also have no eyes. However, light‑sensitive ocelli are distributed along the margins of the umbrella, enabling them to detect variations in light intensity. Jellyfish do not possess a mouth; instead, they rely on their tentacles to capture prey, which is then transported to the gastrovascular cavity for digestion.
