Why a new Hotend holder model ?

I finally started using Gridfinity. I decided to print 3 bins for my ECC hotends (works for both ECC 1 & 2). I reviewed what was availlable on the different plateforms, and decided to print 3 bins of this model remix. Comments were good, and it was a remix of a remix supposedly adressing the shortcomings of previous model. So after asking myself if it was reasonable to print 3 directly without trying the first, I assessed my risk as pretty low.

It looked good… but the bolts could not fit in the corresponding slots… and the cables from the hotends should be arranged in a very specific way to get the hotends to fit perfectly and enable stacking (my main reason to go for gridfinity bins in the first place)… it took me between 10 & 15 minutes for each hotend to find the right setup… and the bin heights which were slightly off from the official gridfinity standards …

I spent hours trying to remix on oneshape… but the stl model was faulty and did not let me make the necessary adjustments…

SO FINALY… I decided to redesign from scratch a new model enabling perfect stacking & respecting the gridfinity standards.

I was also my first gridfinity model.

About this model

I prepared bins for 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm hotends

I added the nozzle size on top and on all size of the bin (as those bins are planned to be stacked).

And to ease up stacking with other bins, I decided to put on the bottom of all my gridfinity bins the corresponding height of the bin in Gridfinity units.

In addition, following Ramu's suggestion, I uploaded a dedicated lid preventing dust to settle in, and prevent the hotend screws to get out, which you can download separately.

Because my main motivation was to prevent other users to suffer all the frustration I went through with the other model.
