Shanhai Jing Mecha Series No. 49 – “Lingling”-Style Engineering Armored Fuel Tanker

This series features mechas inspired by mythical creatures from the Shanhai Jing. We also offer the Bagua Mecha (based on renowned mountains and rivers across China’s provinces, such as Chaohu Lake, Mount Li, Badaling, and Namtso Lake) and the Mythical Mecha (featuring iconic figures like Sun Wukong, Yang Jian, and the Ox Demon King).

Simple to print, easy to assemble, quick to transform, highly resistant to failure, and virtually unbreakable—even when dropped!

Note: To prevent print failures, it’s best to apply a thin layer of adhesive or use a spray lubricant on the print bed—most issues with “chao mian” (poor adhesion) stem from an overly smooth build plate.

Prints require no supports (though you can add a skirt to the base plate if needed for better adhesion), and assembly doesn’t call for glue or hardware—just a firm press or a gentle tap with a small hammer if parts feel a bit tight. This is an incredibly convenient Chinese-style assembly model!

Lingling:

It resembles a cow, its coat patterned with tiger stripes; its bellow sounds like a human groan. The creature’s name is derived from its distinctive cry—and when it appears, it portends widespread flooding across the land.
A beast exists whose form is like that of a cow yet bears tiger markings, and its roar echoes like a deep sigh. It is called Lingling; when it cries out, great floods will sweep across the world. —From the “East Second Classic” in the Shanhai Jing

Design Concept:

With its bovine silhouette, this design takes inspiration from a heavy-duty fuel tanker; the tiger stripes echo the bold, vertical lines adorning the tank itself. The motif of impending disaster—symbolized by the creature’s ominous appearance—finds its counterpart in the tanker’s menacing aesthetic.
