This is the waste bin for my Centauri Carbon. To make access easier, I installed the bin inside the printer, using a clear acrylic panel so I can easily see when it’s full—this way, the printer sits almost flush against the wall, eliminating the need to drag it around unnecessarily.
To withstand the high temperatures inside the printer, I used ELEGOO ABS filament.
I leveraged the printer’s original mounting holes to avoid having to drill new ones into the machine.
I installed 5 M3 inserts and 3 M2 inserts, making full use of all the original screws.
I also used 12 magnets with a diameter of 4 mm × 1.5 mm—6 fixed in place and 6 mounted on the drawer.
I opted for so many magnets because that’s what I had on hand; if you use larger magnets, you may not need quite as many.
I hope you like it—and feel free to share any improvements or enhancements you’d like to add!
