the layered dougong brackets form curving, converging wings; the upturned eaves and flying corners are poised, frozen mid‑flight; and the spire atop the pagoda serves as an elongated beak. The silhouettes of the crane and the pavilion blend seamlessly within the interplay of light and shadow, as though they are but two manifestations of a single, shared soul.
