Clear pots/planters are recommended for orchids, as orchids roots benefit from being exposed to light. Light exposure helps roots function better, preventing root suffocation and promoting overall orchids health… and increasing chances tre-blooming.

Starting from the model of orchids pot proposed by asp3d, I designed the ultimate orchids planter set to help our orchids grow in the best conditions.

Printed in transparent PETG,  your orchids roots will be exposed to light, while the side and bottom openings will guaranty optimum drainage and oxygenation.

The accompanying tray will also contribute to our orchids wellbeing, keeping it well hydrated.

The tray is specially designed to fit clay beads/balls immerged in water. The orchid pot is placed on top, holding in place thanks to dedicated stands. Thanks to the clay balls, evaporation will remain limited, and your orchids will remain well hydrated.

If you choose to print the tras in tranparent PETG, like me, you will also easily be able to  evaluate the level of water, and fill it up when necessary.

Note: I strongly advise you to print in PETG, because when I printed in tranluscent PLA, transparency was not sufficient to evaluate the water level… and water was able to permeate through the PLA tray. The pot itself can be printed in translucent PLA, but the Orchids roots will receive less light.

While 115mm is generally the standard orchids pot size, I also uploaded different sizes, so that you can re-pot our orchids as they grow:

• 115mm (standard size)
• 105mm
• 95mm
• 85mm
• 75mm

If you don't want to bother with re-poting our orchids, I also designed trays that fit directly with the orchids transparent pots the orchids come with when ou buy them.
