The Scottish Highland Cattle (scientific name: Kyloe) is a large ungulate mammal belonging to the genus Bos within the family Bovidae. Its body is entirely covered in long, golden‑red fur, with hair often cascading down from the crown to obscure its eyes. It boasts long horns and a robust skeletal structure in the forequarters. As an ancient breed, it exhibits remarkable cold tolerance, relying on its dense coat to withstand extreme temperatures, while its digestive system is capable of processing a wide variety of plants that most other cattle species reject. Primarily found in the Scottish Highlands, this breed displays a dual nature—both gentle and fiercely independent—and over time, through domestication, it has developed a distinctive red coat and slender, elongated physique [2]. Due to its uniquely styled coat, it has earned playful nicknames in China such as “Non‑Main Cow” and “Jay Chou Cow.”
