The 20th century was the age of dream‑making, where cinematic technology blurred the boundaries between magic and reality. So what does the 21st century hold? In my view, the 21st century belongs to the “cattle and horses”—a term that encapsulates those who are precariously employed, whether as freelancers, hourly workers, or even the unemployed. Yet despite their uncertain circumstances, these individuals are the very backbone of our modern world—and they deserve to be celebrated as a vital force shaping the 21st century! As one of them, I felt it was important to create a piece that reflects this spirit.

The 20th century was the era of dream‑making, where film technology pierced the barriers between magic and reality. So what is the 21st century? I believe the 21st century belongs to the “precariat”—a term that merges “precarious” with “proletariat.” The precariat encompasses freelancers, hourly wage earners, and even those who are temporarily out of work; yet all of them play a crucial role in sustaining the fabric of the 21st century! As one of them, I think we should create a work that captures this shared experience.
