spool holder for large spools, designed around 5kg spool measuring 30 cm in diameter 

additional parts required

-roughly12"(30cm)of 1/2" EMT electrical conduit or other dowel/shaft with roughly A 18mm OD 

-4 M8X30-35mm or 5/16"X1.25-1.5"bolts with nuts are required (lock washers recommended)

-for the locking collars at either end of the shaft I used 1/2" EMT electrical fittings and cut off the threaded portion. this is not required but will help prevent the shaft from working its way out . 

also included is a file for bushings to reduce the rotational friction between the spool and shaft by reducing the surface are in contact between them. the bushings also keep the spool centered between the frames to prevent the spool from snagging on the frame. if you use the bushings you wan tot make sure they have a snug fit on the spool but rotate freely on the shaft. I wrapped tape around the bushing tape to help make a snug fit.
