“The roar of the mecha engine is my signal—that means I’m here!”
Back when MW held a tissue box contest, I didn’t have much of an idea and ended up skipping it. Then, right after that, MO decided to run an identical contest… Fine, fine—what’s done is done!
Looking back, the more I think about it, the more I realize I missed out. If only I’d just held on a little longer—how I’ll regret it later!!!
I’m getting this built—today, I’m making it happen!!
Is this the kind of project that mech enthusiasts dream about?
- The design still channels the SRU Panyan Universe aesthetic (drawing inspiration from the launch pad area of my own pinnacle-powered LF-1 Outpost—where LP-01 refers to Launch Pad No. 1).
- A modular design ensures all four decorative panels are interchangeable (though due to material shrinkage, you may need adhesive to secure them in place—oil-based contact cement is highly recommended).
- The lid and main body connect via magnetic snaps; you’ll need eight 6x2mm round magnets.
- The box offers two versatile functions:
- It perfectly accommodates standard-sized pocket tissues.
- It doubles as a personalized storage container—I even added a four‑grid grid pattern; see the print settings for details.
- [Updated April 20, 2025] Epic Upgrade—Ultrasound Sensing Module!

- Connects to the side of the tissue box via a new magnetic docking mechanism—and can also stand alone as a stylish decorative piece.
- Displays indoor temperature and humidity with stunning visual flair.
- Utilizing ultrasonic ranging technology, simply wave your hand within 10 cm of the front of the tissue box to activate the display, which will remain active for 8 seconds.
- Requires an Arduino UNO development board.
- Needs several DuPont jumper wires—male-to-female type, roughly 15 cables.
- Requires a soldering iron and related soldering accessories.
- Needs a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor module.
- Requires an SR04 ultrasonic ranging module.
- Needs a 1602A LCD screen (not the IIC version—this one has 16 pins).
- Requires the Arduino IDE development software (I’ve already written the code for you—see Document 1).
- Accurate wiring is essential—refer to Document 2 for detailed instructions.
