This is my original dragon egg that I originally made in 2022. Beware of imitations. If you make a remix of this, please give proper attribution and share alike.

Update: March 2025. I've been working hard on a major redesign, and here it is!

Improvements include:

• A hard stop on the threads so the two halves line up perfectly every time.
• Dragon scale texture on the inside of the egg. (Medium & large eggs only.)
• A fire symbol on the inside rim of the bottom half.
• Improved scale texture with more nubs and imperfections. Every scale is a little different.
• Three raised bands on the interior threads, so if the fit is too tight, you only have to sand the three banded areas.
• My designer logo on the inside bottom to combat people sharing and selling this egg without attribution.
• The small and medium eggs now nest inside each other without having to rescale.

If you have a Bambu printer, I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend you use my print profile on Makerworld. I find that support helps the details print better on the lower part of the bottom half and a brim helps the top half stick to the bed, especially when printing with silk filaments. The details print better for me on my Bambu P1S when I print slow, but you can try incrementally increasing the speed.

I made every bit of this from scratch, including the scales. I made the scales by importing a custom texture into a Blender brush and placing every scale one at a time, adjusting the size as I went. I designed it with Sketchup, Blender, Fusion 360, and Meshmixer. (And Gimp for the scale alpha.)

If the threads feel tight, try screwing the halves in and out repeatedly. I also find that the threads contract a little after a day or so. If that doesn't work, you can print again with an altered Horizontal Expansion / XY Compensation.
