I was looking for a good filament clip and RFID tag holder for my Centauri Carbon 2 and U1 and I love things that do multiple tasks in a clever way. Kudos to 47no on Makerworld for the idea and base clip, really liked the foundation and just wanted to modify it based on how I print.

I tend to print from either a cereal box or an external heater, and as such could not use this tag on the rollers.  But I still wanted the benefit of having a clip for storage or printing on the spool mounts. So I also decided to make a clip that you can super glue to the cereal box, AMS/Dryer or even to the side of a printer like my U1 where it will meet up with the RIFD reader.  Basically, I lose things and just wanted a way to keep the tag with the spool…

The clip is a bit thicker so that you can imbed the NFC 215 or 213 tag directly (diameter of 25mm).  At a 0.20mm layer height, you should have a pause at layer 9 in the print where you will insert your tag, hit resume and just give it some time.

I use the Filament RFID App for my Android to write to tags, but you can use whatever app you like and the tags should read and write just fine.

I did make this clip to have a snug fit when you put the tag in the mount, so just be careful the first time you insert it.  After the first time you use the clips or mounts it should slide well.  

Each Clip is about 5 grams of filament and takes about 9 min to print. But a plate of 3 prints in around 20 min just depending on the printer and filament.  I am just printing a plate of 18 and it is just under 3 hours, as a point of reference.

Each mount is about 2 grams and takes about 6 min, but 3 print in around 15 min.
