My take on an easy-to-print and easy-to-use outlet cover to keep your kids safe.

Inspired by Lightning77's design on creality cloud ("https://www.crealitycloud.com/model-detail/outlet-cover-part-2-of-2?source=61&profileId=691bcea4ad9806c8e46e6073"), I wanted a more spacious design that could accommodate larger plugs and AC adapters. I also moved the majority of the latching mechanism to the cover to improve the way the plate looks when left on the wall uncovered.

Printing Tips:

I've experimented with PETG, PLA, and HT-PLA with good results with all three. CAUTION: Do not print this outlet cover using an electrically conductive filament (including carbon fiber, metallic filament, glitter, etc.)!

I have included 2 sizes to accommodate most electrical plugs. You will need to print a plate, a cover, and 2 latches of the corresponding size per outlet. Enable supports for the plate and cover. Tree supports may not work on the plate due to the location of the latching mechanism. After printing, you will need to install the two latches into the cover with the buttons and hook pointing out. You may need to bend them slightly to get them into place. They can be press fit, but I recommend a small amount of super glue to ensure they stay in place.

Please be aware that I have designed this outlet cover with the intent to provide a safer alternative to leaving an outlet unprotected. It is, however, not certified by any safety authority and I cannot claim that it is 100% safe to use. Please use caution whenever working with electrical outlets.
