Creation Description
This 3D-printed creative work is modeled after the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City, reinterpreting the grandeur and exquisiteness of Eastern architectural aesthetics through modern craftsmanship.
Adopting the iconic "yellow roof and red walls" color scheme, the piece restores the hall’s signature features—including the double-eaved hip-and-gable roof, tiered marble terrace with balustrades, and surrounding auxiliary structures. Symbolic ceremonial figurines on the square further complete the spatial order of an imperial palace.
The layered texture inherent to 3D printing lends the work a unique handcrafted quality. The warm color palette preserves the Forbidden City’s solemn aura while infusing it with a playful charm. The creation pays homage to the joinery ingenuity and aesthetic system of ancient Chinese architecture, while demonstrating how digital manufacturing can bring traditional cultural symbols to life in new, engaging ways—allowing this thousand-year-old architectural icon to enter daily life in a more interactive form.
