In all their wisdom General Motors made the charging pad on their 2023 Buick Envision, Chevrolet Blazer, GMC Acadia, and Cadillac XT5 a Permanently on feature. Well, I would like to use it for storage that does not need to be charged. it is a good spot to put my wallet or work badge. The pad does say no metals should be placed on it. So how to use it to leave a work badge that you don't need erased? This thing! it's really a one-centimeter riser. but it's enough that the charging pad can't sense anything on top of it or the erasing of badge information to take place. Also, GM has fixed the overheating of the charging pad by having constant cold air lightly blowing under the pad. The underside of this is slightly hilly to allow the cold air to still circulate. Side effect it can keep cold drinks cool. An added bonus that was never intended! I have the Buick but knowing that all the other cars that share the same platform have the same deal going on I made the other badges have their own riser or there is even just a blank one should you just want a clean look. I suggest you use Petg or better for heat resistance. Mine has held up just fine in the hotness of a car.
