  • waste collector

I designed and built a filament-waste collector for the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2, featuring a simple yet effective magnet-based mounting system (8 x 3–3 mm magnets).

The concept is to automatically capture filament residues—such as purges, supports, and cut-offs—to keep the print area clean and organized. To achieve this, the collector is positioned directly near the printer’s filament purge outlet.

The key innovation of this system lies in its magnetic attachment. Integrated magnets securely affix the collector to any metal surface on the printer. This design offers several advantages:

  • Quick installation: no tools are required—simply position the collector.
  • Secure hold: the magnets provide a stable attachment, even during machine movements.
  • Modularity: the system can be easily moved or removed as needed.

In summary, this solution combines simplicity, efficiency, and practicality while enhancing ergonomics and cleanliness around your Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2.
