The Bat-Signal | Desktop Spotlight & Prop

Bring the Caped Crusader’s iconic distress signal to your desk or shelf. This multi-part 3D printable Bat-Signal is designed for easy assembly and features a hollow housing perfect for adding an internal LED light source.

Features

  • Articulating Mount: The signal housing sits on a pivot mount, allowing you to adjust the vertical angle of the beam.
  • Modular Design: 5 separate parts designed to print with minimal supports.
  • Cable Management: Includes a discreet notch in the base/housing for wiring a LED puck

Assembly Instructions

  1. The Base: Start by mounting the U-shaped bracket onto the octagonal base plate.
  2. The Signal: Place your light source inside the main cylindrical housing cap.
  3. The Pivot: Secure the housing into the bracket using M3 screws or printed pins (depending on your print scale).
  4. The Lens: Snap the Bat-Emblem ring into the front of the housing.
  5. Seal it up: Use the rear cap to enclose your electronics and keep the light focused forward.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Material: PLA, PETG, or Matte Black PLA (for that authentic "Dark Knight" look).
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm for general parts; 0.12mm or 0.16mm for the Bat-Emblem lens for better detail.
  • Infill: 15-20% (Gyroid recommended for the base to add a bit of weight).
  • Supports: Minimal supports may be needed for the U-bracket overhangs and the main housing cylinder.

Materials Needed

  • Hardware: (2) M3 screws or 3mm dowels for the pivot points and (1) M3 screw for mounting the bracket to the base.
  • Electronics: Small LED puck light, 5V LED strip, or a standard tea light (for display only—be cautious of heat if using non-LED sources).

Note: If you enjoy this model, please consider sharing your makes! I'd love to see how your Bat-Signal looks illuminated at night.

Please note I don't consider this a remix because I remade everything except for the bat itself, but I got the original model from https://makerworld.com/en/models/1022357-batman-lamp-kit-001?from=recommend#profileId-1004009
