This model is inspired by a classic Romanesque building in Qingdao’s old city district—the Guanxiang Road Christian Church (St. Paul’s Church).

I reimagined and modeled the original structure in a Chibi style. The building’s 24-meter-tall, robust and imposing red exposed-brick bell tower serves as the centerpiece of the design. In the Chibi rendition, it has been thoughtfully reshaped to retain its iconic silhouette and Lombard arch motif while achieving a more compact and rounded overall proportion.

The model simplifies intricate decorative elements, emphasizing the semicircular arch shapes of the church’s windows and portico, ensuring they remain clearly recognizable even at a miniature scale—making it ideal for 3D printing and subsequent coloring. Whether you’re a fan of Qingdao’s architecture or a collector of Chibi-style cultural products, this piece is simply unmissable.

【About the Original Building】 St. Paul’s Church in Qingdao is located on the northern slope of Guanxiang Mountain in the Shinan District. Built between 1940 and 1941, it is a Protestant church of significant historical value within Qingdao’s urban area. Its red-brick, exposed-masonry façade exudes a solid, majestic presence, making it a striking landmark along one of the city’s historic streetscapes.
