LED Candle Flame v.2: Warmth and Coziness in Every Home
Imagine a cozy evening surrounded by soft light. On your table stands a candle, flickering like a real flame, but without the smoke and soot. This LED candle with a flickering flame is not just a decorative piece, but a perfect way to create warmth and romance in your home. Especially during the winter holidays, when every corner feels like it needs something special. This candle will be a perfect addition to your holiday table, creating a cozy atmosphere for Christmas, New Year’s, or simply for a quiet evening with loved ones. It also makes for a unique gift for those who appreciate style and functionality.
When I created the first version of this LED candle, many people asked if I could add a rechargeable battery. While the corded version was functional, it wasn’t always the most convenient option. In today’s world, rechargeable devices are everywhere, and a battery-powered candle seemed like a natural upgrade. So revisiting the project and adapting it for a battery-powered version didn’t take long.
Technical Details and Assembly Options
In this new version, I used my own custom charging module, but I also included two other assembly options. The first is an adaptation of a multi-module charging device, which I previously described in the mobile lamp project using a USB Type-C adapter. You can follow this link to see the wiring diagram, which is identical for the candle. The second option is a ready-made module based on the TP4056 chip. A friend of mine tested and adapted this module, which made it easy to design the right part for the new candle.
For assembling the candle, you’ll need M2.5x3 nuts and M2.5x5 flat-head screws. Two types of double-sided adhesive tape will ensure the components are securely fixed. As for the battery, you can use different capacities, as long as the dimensions fit the candle’s body. In my case, I used a Li-Po 601235 battery with a capacity of 250 mAh, which provides around 4 hours of continuous light. The Li-Po battery markings decode as follows: 60 – thickness (6mm), 12mm – width, and 35mm – length.
Assembly Process and Demonstration
If you’re curious about the assembly process or want to see a detailed video tutorial, make sure to check out the video included with the project. In it, I walk you through each step and demonstrate how to put together your own LED candle.
Let this candle be a symbol of warmth and light in any situation – whether it’s a romantic evening or a cozy winter night.
