🎃 Articulated Pumpkin Spider

Looking for a spooky-cute print for Halloween (or anytime)?
Meet the Pumpkin Spider – a remix inspired by the Articulated Spider.

I designed the pumpkin head in Blender, with two versions available:

• AMS Version – for multi-color printers (automatic filament changes).
• No AMS Version – uses “Per Object” settings to assign colors:
  • Orange for the pumpkin
  • Black for the eyes
  • Green for the stem

🛠️ Print Settings

• Head & Stem: PLA (Orange, Black, Green)
• Legs & Frame: PETG (recommended, like Dummy 13 for strength & flexibility)
• Layer Height: 0.20 mm
• Supports: Not required
• Brim: Needed for the pumpkin head (5 mm brim suggested)
• Special Note: The pumpkin head includes a negative slot for the rail connection. Fit may vary by printer – if too tight or too loose, adjust scale in 0.02 increments until it snaps perfectly.

🔧 Assembly Instructions

1. Print all parts (use brim for pumpkin head only).
2. Snap the legs together following the articulation sequence (see pictures).
3. Insert the spider frame into the pumpkin head rail slot.
4. Test articulation – legs should move freely while the pumpkin head stays secure.
5. Adjust scaling of the negative slot if the fit isn’t perfect on the first try.

💡 Tips

• PETG works best for durability on articulated parts.
• If you’re printing in PLA only, make sure to increase infill to 20–25% for the legs.
• For Halloween vibes, try printing glow-in-the-dark PLA for the pumpkin or the eyes!
