This model was designed by Manuel Aviña, María Fernanda Torres, Julieta Garza and Alejandro Gutierrez.

This is a PV panel delaminating unit using a heavily modified conveyor system designed by Cédric Bortolotto.
Two level conveyor system with rollers, driven by gears to separate the PV modules.
We used a 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe wrapped by a bicycle tire tube of 29'.
We used 8mm (688-2RS) bearings with an 8mm shaft.
We added two 5840-36ZY DC 12V Worm Gear Motor 16 rpm motors to power the movement of the gears, with a specific gear design for each motor.

We also designed a scraper holder with angle adjustment, the scraper was a standard cooking bench scraper cut to fit.

To manage the motor, we bought a transformer power source driver and a speed regulator for the movement of the gears through the motor.

We used 5/16 nuts and bolts to attach the unit to the base.

To ease the process, the solar module sample must be submerged in D-Limonene into an ultrasonic cleaning machine for 15 minutes prior to the delamination process.

How do you hold the gears in place?
We made holes into the gear supports on the "framed wall with gear support" and added paper clips to prevent them of falling out.
