About the models

These are Lego plates which can be fixed anywhere you want thanks the DoveTail rails system.

I initially develop those Lego plates to enable my son to play with his lego minifigures & display them on the side of his IKEA Hemnes bed. Follow the link to find the IKEA Hemnes Bed & Couch DoveTail rails & clamps fixation system.

Leave a comment if you'd be interested to adapt this fixation system anywhere else

These plates are also big enough to develop & display your own Lego Mini-scenes

Printed in PLA, the Lego studs are working very well, preventing any Lego pieces to detach inadvertently.

I initially released both 120 & 68mm large Lego plates.

If you want me to upload other sizes, offer me a coffe, and I will gladly adapt the model to your specific needs.

Removing the supports

Supports are mandatory to ensure the DoveTail rails can slide very smoothly, and that Lego studs remain perfect.

Of course, that means that supports removal is a bit more involved than usual.

In order to remove supports easily, I strongly advise the following (as illustrated through photos):

  1. Use a precision cutter to detach both of the dovetails slopes
  2. ensure you can slit your cutter blade through the dovetails slopes completely
  3. Insert a larger cutter blade to the bottom/top of the dovetail support to detach the support from the flat surface. Do it from both sides
  4. then you should be able to slide the support through, as a rail. If it's not the case, try to repeat step 3, or even 2.
You can also try to use strong pliers to force the supports out when your out of patience… but carefully to avoid damaging the docetail suface. I was doing that before I found the right technique.
