The prototype is based on one of 2B’s initial weapons from the game “NieR: Automata”—the White Covenant, a massive katana. I’ve modified it into a telescoping sword, striving to replicate its original dimensions as closely as possible—though it’s still slightly smaller than its in-game counterpart.

Below is the assembly process. The build is fairly straightforward, requiring just a few self-tapping screws: two M2.5×6 screws, four M2.5×16 screws, and six M2.5×12 screws (though M2.5×16 screws can easily be substituted).

Final Assembly:

Screw Placement:

First, slide the telescoping blade sections together one by one. The black cap at the top is secured with printed cylindrical pins.

Next, use the rear black cover to fully encase the telescoping blade.

Now, let’s move on to the rear section: first, lock the structural components together with the inner black sleeve.

Then, simply slide the remaining decorative components into place, one by one:

Pay attention to the orientation—otherwise, you may find that the pieces don’t fit properly.

Once most of the assembly is complete, the result looks roughly like this:

Finally, attach the decorative elements on the blade and at the blade’s tip—secure them in place using adhesive.

Current Issues:

1. The telescoping mechanism sometimes fails to extend fully; applying excessive force can cause the extension to detach. While this issue may require some tweaking over time, I believe it’s perfectly usable as it stands—and if there’s no significant demand for further refinement, I probably won’t spend much time addressing it.

2. The internal structural components are relatively slender, but they’re strong enough for casual handling. No issues arise when simply manipulating the piece.
