Taotie, also known as Lao Tao or Pao Xiao, is a ferocious, gluttonous beast from ancient Chinese mythology and one of the Four Great Demons. According to the Shanhai Jing, Taotie has the body of a sheep with a human face; its eyes are located beneath its armpits, it sports tiger teeth and human claws, and its cry resembles that of an infant.
