Overview:

We’ve broken the hinges on several laptops over the years.  To continue to make use of them, I designed these brackets to support the screen at different angles depending on where they are located.  I use one of the laptops at my CNC and another by the 3D printers as an example.  Depending on the height of the platform they sit on, the screen need to be adjusted to a different angle.

These don’t work well if you are moving the laptop around a lot or putting it on your lap.  They work best when the laptop is sitting on flat surface and used like a desktop computer.

Also, some computers have their power ports or USB ports right next to the hinge requiring a notch for them.  I’ve included several versions we’ve used on our laptops

Printing:

Within the slicer, simply make a copy of the bracket and mirror it  to get the other side. No supports required.
