Model Name: Edamame Tennis Ball Organizer + Edamame Tennis Ball Pendant

Model Description:

Through countless late nights, only the faint glow of the screen illuminated my flushed face. This tiny edamame—this little pod—I rebuilt it forty-seven times.

The very first iteration came out with a pod curvature that just didn’t quite work. So I headed back to the fields of my hometown, where I bent down to carefully examine each individual pod—only to realize that every curve wasn’t a perfectly smooth arc, but rather the natural, organic flow of life itself. I scaled the design up to the size of a tennis ball organizer, cradling it in my hands and gently stroking its surface again and again until my fingertips memorized that soft, warm texture; then I scaled it down to pendant size, rotating it under the light to watch how shadows and highlights danced across every subtle ridge and hollow.

The most challenging part was getting the through‑hole just right. I had to ensure that the connection was both seamless and secure, so the tennis balls wouldn’t fall out—but at the same time, I needed to make sure the balls could still pass cleanly through the opening. By the twenty-third iteration, the printer spat out another failed sample at 3 a.m. I leaned against the wall, ready to give up on this “whimsical idea.” But as I picked up the broken pieces, I noticed that TOPAZ actually offered the ability to print textured, velvety surfaces—a feature that fit my vision to a T.

That was it. I sat back down at my computer.

Now, whether you’re using it to store your tennis balls or simply playing with the pendant—this is the result of over a hundred iterations, painstakingly refined to capture the true essence of fresh edamame. When you use it as a tennis ball bag, each ball feels like a perfectly ripe bean; when you carry it as a pendant, it gently sways from your keychain, as if plucked just moments ago from the sun-dappled ridges of a summer field.

This is a single edamame I’m giving to the world. It’s small, small enough to hang from your backpack and sway in the breeze; yet it’s also vast, large enough to hold the weight of every ounce of perseverance and every drop of gentle care. Somewhere, in a moment you might not even notice, you may suddenly realize: the most moving creations aren’t about changing the world—they’re about letting the world’s smallest, most precious beauties land just right in the palm of your hand.
