I designed and built this to convert the motor mounts on my lab's Leapfrog Creatr Dual 3D printer from a direct drive to bowden style extruder. I tried to design it to use as much of the original parts (bearing/screws) as possible.

I was hoping to increase the speed and performance of the system by moving the weight of the motor from the moving carriage to the chassis. The design and build seemed fine, but I could never get future prints made with this extruder to look quite as good as the direct print version, even with a lot of tweaking. I ultimately attribute this problem to the flexibility/elasticity of the hose and filament.

Even if no one really prints this design, I posting it here to hopefully inspire other designs.
