The Skeletal Vase - Series 1

"What would it be like if a vase had a skeleton?"

That was the core question behind this design. Moving away from traditional solid geometry, The Skeletal Vase explores anatomical and organic themes by splitting the form into two distinct, interlocking components: a smooth outer "skin" and a sweeping, structural inner "frame."

The outer shell features an elegant cutout that reveals a beautifully complex, twisting ribcage nested perfectly inside. It’s a striking desktop art piece, a conversation starter, and an excellent showcase for dual-color printing or unique filament pairings.

🛠️ Design & Printing Details

This model is engineered for straightforward printing and seamless assembly:

• 2-Part Interlocking Design: The model is completely split into two independent files—the Outer Shell and the Inner Skeletal Frame.
• No Multi-Material Unit Required: Because it is designed in two separate pieces, you don't need an AMS/MMU to achieve this multi-color look. Just print each part in your choice of filament and slide them together.
• Visual Contrast: For the best aesthetic results, we recommend a clean matte filament for the outer shell to emphasize the architectural lines, paired with a silk, metallic, or high-contrast filament for the internal organic ribs.

📐 Recommended Print Settings

• Layer Height: 0.16mm to 0.2mm for smooth curvature transitions.
• Infill: 10%–15% (Gyroid recommended for internal strength).
• Walls/Perimeters: 2–3 walls.
• Supports: The inner skeletal frame features smooth, self-supporting organic curves, but depending on your printer's bridging performance, minimal support may be used at the very peak of the outer shell cutout.
