If you own one of these generic chinese gasoline polesaws or a multitool that can take one as an attachment and if you are anything like me the OEM cover (depicted in orange) will eventually break on you.

This is my replacement part for it (depicted in white and mounted on the actual tool)

I targeted the fuxtec FX-ms152 machine's polesaw attachment but this being a generic chinese machine after all anyways it should fit a multitude of brands and models

I printed it in white PLA where as the OEM part is orange ABS. I see no issues with printing it in PLA for as this part does not get particularly hot, also if the replacement eventually chips aswell PLA being biodegradable will make this less of a pollutant. The color is obviously not terribly important but if you use this in any more serious environment consider going for orange, red or neon-yellow as those are the signalling colors used in forestry – white will just look out of place. 

Fitment is not too great – the part that mates against the chainbar could take a bit less thickness, the walls could be a tad thicker to hold up more, the cutout for the retainment nut could be deeper. But overall evidently it is perfectly possible to mount this on your tool as is. 

I ended up with a warped edge where the OEM part had already chipped, but that in the assembled state does not have any impact.

The OEM part has a metal insert for where the retainment bolt is protruding but i did not see the need to investigate what they used, if it is obtainable anywhere or if i can replace it with anything – i do not think this adds any significant value to the part
