Lucem Caelestis is a high-performance 3D printed model rocket designed using Fusion 360 and optimized in OpenRocket for maximum stability, aerodynamics, and flight efficiency. Built in PLA with a focus on strength and precise weight distribution, the rocket features a streamlined body and carefully designed fins for stable ascent.
What sets this project apart is its onboard electronics: powered by an Arduino MKR NB 1500 and an accelerometer, the rocket transmits live flight data such as speed, acceleration, and angle via cellular connection. This ensures reliable real-time telemetry without depending on post-flight data recovery.
The rocket uses a three-motor configuration to achieve balanced thrust and improved altitude, combined with optimized center of gravity placement for stable flight characteristics.
This project blends 3D printing, electronics, and aerodynamics into a compact and powerful system—perfect for learning, experimentation, and pushing the limits of hobby rocketry.
