Basic Introduction
Ruyi is a traditional Chinese auspicious craft and ritual object, with a gracefully curved shape resembling a finger, symbolizing “everything goes as one wishes” and “all matters are auspicious.” In ancient times, it was often used as a decorative display piece, a ceremonial vessel, or a talisman for blessings.
Design and Structure
Head: Typically in the shapes of lingzhi mushroom, cloud patterns, or heart
Handle: Long and slightly curved, often carved with motifs such as dragon patterns, phoenix patterns, intertwined branches, bats, and peach of longevity
Tail: Rounded and smoothly tapered, giving the entire piece fluid, elegant lines
