The old Nikon P8700 still is my favored compact camera due to its outstanding versatility and its compatibility with my Nikon SB-400 and SB-800 flashlights. But more often than not I readjust the exposure compensation wheel by accident (e.g. when unbaging) and ignore the warning LED while under conventional photographer stress, resulting in underexposed or overexposed takes.
Being fed up with this situation I designed a ring around the exposure compensation wheel in both a blocking and a non-blocking version. The non-blocking version still allows compensation, but its surface has less friction than the original wheel, leading to less accidential readjustments. The blocking version is my favorite because the exposure metering of the P7800 is just right in 99.9% of cases.
