What has always upset me as a kid … and what often discouraged my kids when doing Spirograph, is that piece of paper or that reference gear moving unexpectedly after having spent all those long minutes perfecting my design…

and wasting in one instant all these efforts.

The purpose of this model is two-fold:

1. holding a piece of A4 paper in place to prevent it from moving unexpectedly
2. preventing the rotating gear to slid-out… and ruin our pieces of art

This model is designed to work with the Molodos Spirograph-like drawing templates which you can entirely 3d-print.

The original upload came with a 276 teeth adapter. I've now added a 270 teeth adapter which has better compatibility with the original Molodos Spirograph-like drawing templates. 

Change the adapter to produce different patterns. Try to match gears with common divisors to generate “finite” patterns.

• Divisors for 276: 276,138,92,69,46,23,12,6,4,3,2,1
• Divisors for 270: 270,135,90,54,45,30,27,18,15,10,9,6,5,3,2,1
