- Function: This towering design—known as “High Foot”—serves not only aesthetic purposes but also enhances the candlestick’s stability and height, allowing the candlelight to cast a wider, more radiant glow while imbuing the piece with a dignified, almost sacred sense of ritual.
- Lotus-Leaf Tray (Wax Catcher):
- Form: The middle or upper section of the candlestick is shaped like a gracefully curled lotus leaf, its edges undulating in a wave-like pattern (known as “flower mouth”), often adorned with finely carved leaf veins.
- Function: Beyond mere decoration, this feature serves a practical purpose as a wax catch tray. It collects dripping wax during combustion, preventing damage to the tabletop and protecting the user from burns.
