Want to repurpose an idle material tray but aren’t quite ready to discard it? Simply slice it open and use this custom-designed adapter to securely lock the tray in place—just tighten the screws, and you can easily mount filament spools without a dedicated material tray.
(This solution also serves as an extra safeguard for detachable material trays.)
Tested material trays: R3D, ColorGrid
Tested filaments: Dajian filament compatible with no‑tray setups
The inner diameter of the material tray should be ≥58 mm; we recommend that the thickness of filament spools used with no‑tray systems falls within the 56–72 mm range.
After installation, the overall footprint will increase by approximately 6 mm on both the left and right sides.
