This piece draws inspiration from the legendary Golden Chainmail Armor featured in Black Myth, prompting me to delve into the origins of Shanwen Armor.

Shanwen Armor traces its roots to an ancient Chinese armor‑weaving technique—chainmail—that has since been lost to history.

However, the styles commonly seen today are actually modern interpretations, pieced together by contemporary designers based on historical depictions, sculptures, and other visual clues—a true example of contemporary reimagining:

Regardless, this design is remarkably well‑thought out. I experimented with a fully integrated, support‑free print—though its intended applications remain somewhat unclear for now. It could potentially be used as costume props; personally, I see it as a fabric‑like structure, where the original version can be “unfastened” along the edges.

Later, I developed an integrated, lock‑down version—though it sacrifices some flexibility compared to the unlockable variant.
