Tree frogs (scientific name: Rhacophoridae) are a collective term for amphibians belonging to the family Rhacophoridae. Tree frogs typically range from medium to large in size; male tree frogs usually have a sloping, pointed snout, while female tree frogs feature a high, blunt snout. The posterior notch of the tongue is deep, the palatine teeth are well developed, the tympanic membrane is clearly visible, and the interdigital webbing is either present or highly developed—often nearly complete between the toes—with the lateral metatarsals being relatively robust. The nasal bones are small, the ethmoid–sphenoid complex is prominently exposed, the frontal–parietal region is broad or broadly short, and the skin on the head does not adhere tightly to the skull. The hyoid bone lacks a pre‑lingual process but bears wing‑like projections.
