Self-Watering Plant Pot | Plantatio

Hello!
This is my self-watering plant pot design, originally created as my major work project.

Features

  • Integrated filling spout for easy watering
  • Self-watering system using capillary action
  • Compact and practical design

Printing Recommendations

  • Filament: PETG (recommended for water resistance)
  • Infill: ≥ 30%
  • Alternative filaments: PLA and others can be used, but water may leak. For PLA, you can apply a thin waterproof layer (e.g., clear glue) inside.

Notes on Printing & Assembly

  • The inner section is split into two parts. This improves print success (especially with PETG).
    • PLA may print fine without splitting, but I left it this way for consistency.
  • Parts can be attached with glue. I used UHU All Plastics Glue, but superglue should also work.
  • After printing and removing supports:
    1. Take the pieces from plate 2 and glue them together. Ensure the “feet” of the smaller piece face outward. Let it dry completely.
    2. Cut a piece of clear plastic (I used lamination sheet), align it with the cut-out on plate 1, and glue it thoroughly to prevent leaks.
    3. Clean all parts to remove glue residue.
    4. Insert the inner piece into the outer shell, place your plant inside, and fill the reservoir as needed.

Enjoy your low-maintenance, self-watering pot!
