Originally conceived by rogue engineer The Lightning, the P44 was noted for its experimental high-output thrusters and hyper-responsive frame. Officially, it was meant to be a lightweight urban defense Gundam, inspired by the resilience and deceptive calm of a panda.

However, after Shirakawa abandoned the Earth Federation’s development program, the prototype was stolen and modified in secret.

The current P44 is a far cry from its registered design. Black-market mechanics have equipped it with illegal overclocked reactor cores, banned psycho-frame augmentations, and a customized arm-mounts that can accept any weapon, regardless of its origin.

Though its silhouette still resembles the “peaceful giant” motif of its namesake, the mech is infamous among pilots as a predator cloaked in humor. Unstable, unpredictable, and devastating in combat.

The Gundam world whispers of it as a machine “that should not exist,” a symbol of what happens when ingenuity, rebellion, and outlaw engineering collide.
