The Bear vs Bull is an iconic and traditional symbol of the stock market that has stood the test of time. From bronze to marble, and now in 3D PLA/ABS bull and bear statues have long been a staple of Wall Street gifts and awards. The use of "bull" and "bear" to describe markets comes from the way the animals attack their opponents. A bull thrusts its horns up into the air, while a bear swipes its paws downward. Bull = market is going up. Bear = market is going down.
