chinese electronic leadscrew
wm240

I have a Warco WM240 lathe and wanted to add an electronic leadscrew. The Chinese controller I was considering has several kits available but none that I could find for the 38mm spindle present on my lathe. Also, there is little room for the existing mounts for the spindle sensor.
I've created GT2 pulleys for the spindle and the sensor. The sensor I used was a generic BKS3806B with 1000 pulses/rev. The pulley for the sensor gives a 1:1 reduction which I suspect may not be enough for finer threads, but any stock GT2 pully with a 6mm bore can be used.
With the pulleys above, I used a GT2-380-10 timing belt. If you change the sensor pulley diameter you'll need to source your own belt.
The sensor mount requires drilling and tapping 2 x M6 holes in the left side of the headstock.
I've found the controller to be pretty good. It's an excellent replacement for all those gear changes, especially when wanting to just do a very fine feed when turning.
The pulleys both use an M4 nut and grub screw for clamping.
