Pixel Pup - Standing

Step into the Pixel Pup series with Pixel Pup - Standing, the quiet face of the same voxelized balloon-dog silhouette that powers the rest of the collection. The Pup is here in its neutral pose, all four legs planted, ears alert, facing a chunky red fire hydrant without claiming it. No raised leg, no puddle, no pile on the ground, just the famous shape held still in low-resolution voxel form. 

Design & Concept

I designed Pixel Pup - Standing as the cleanest piece in the Pixel Pup family, the one that keeps the balloon-dog silhouette intact without the bodily punchline. Other releases in the series lean into the most universal dog gestures, the squat and the raised leg. Standing leaves both out and presents the Pup facing the fire hydrant as a sculpture, the way the original art-world icon was always meant to be displayed: still, polished, taken seriously. The voxel rendering carries the same low-resolution language as the rest of the line, but here it works in service of the high-art reference instead of against it. The hydrant stays in the scene as the foil, the urban context, the reason the Pup is on the corner in the first place. The joke, when you want it, lives in the other releases.

Printing Recommendations

• Material: PLA in white. Matte or basic both work for the voxel finish.
• Nozzle: 0.4mm.
• Layer Height: 0.2mm.

• Infill: 10-15% Gyroid.
• Supports: Not required. The voxel geometry self-supports through stair-stepping.
