Noticed that some spools were slipping off the holder during long prints. I know there are already adapter/holder models available, but most of them remove the spring-loaded tension system from the factory holder. This design upgrades the original holder instead, and adds a threaded guard/nut design for quick filament swaps while keeping the factory tensioner.

The only downside is that you need to remove the decorative sticker covering the 4 screws on the factory holder.

Install steps:

1- Remove the sticker from the holder
2- Unscrew the 4 screws holding the small cover
3- Install the new upgraded cover
4- Install the guard and nut after inserting the spool
