- Key Components: The basic structure of a space walker consists of a base, inclined supports, handlebars, an armrest, and foot pedals. The base is typically fabricated from channel steel that is welded into a single unit and securely anchored to a concrete floor. In community fitness areas, space walkers are usually installed in pairs, allowing two users to exercise simultaneously.
- Exercise Technique: For the single-leg space walker, grip the horizontal bar with both hands, place each foot on its respective pedal, keep the left knee fully extended, and step forward by pivoting at the hip joint while maintaining as much extension as possible in the right leg as it lifts backward. When the legs are spread apart to about 60 degrees, allow gravity to guide the movement back down, then switch to stepping forward with the right leg and lifting the left leg backward, repeating this cycle. For the dual-leg space walker, hold the handles with both hands and place both feet on the pedals; as the right leg steps forward, pull the handle backward with the right hand, and as the left leg pushes backward, push the handle forward with the left hand—subsequent movements follow the same principle.
- Functional Benefits: Primarily designed to enhance lower-body mobility and improve hip-joint flexibility, it effectively strengthens the muscles surrounding the hip joint. The dual-leg model also helps build upper-body strength.

- Precautions: Maintain a steady, moderate pace during exercise to avoid strains; keep the spine straight and gaze level ahead; and avoid large, uncoordinated swings of both legs to prevent lower-back injuries.
