Introduction:

Lulu the Pig, a pig‑bear hybrid—perfect as a desktop trash can, pen holder, or petite decorative storage container.

The model was created using Nomad for modeling and part separation (on an Android tablet, the MatePad Air 11.5+ with the M-Pencil)—not an AI‑generated or scan‑based design. This piggy was initially sketched as part of a Nomad practice session, where I spent a bit of time each day during my lunch break, carefully tweaking the design on the tablet.

Through this exercise, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of Nomad’s tools and refined my existing skills, feeling a sense of progress that truly delights me.

Sometimes, as I’m working away, I can’t help but wonder: with today’s AI capable of producing such detailed models, why bother spending hours manually modeling? Wouldn’t AI‑driven modeling be far more efficient? After all, these days, you’ll find AI‑generated, scan‑based, or even third‑party–bought models popping up everywhere across the web—and it almost feels like we “old‑school” modelers are a bit rebellious in sticking to manual workflows (just kidding—I’m not really that rebellious!).

Printing & Assembly Instructions:

  • 8% spiral infill—this approach is both practical and material‑efficient for everyday use.
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm. While the layer lines on this model are fairly subtle, if you’re particularly sensitive to layer marks, consider using a smaller layer height—or try enabling “Variable Layer Height.” Personally, I opted not to adjust the settings because I prefer shorter print times.
  • Glue is required for assembly. Due to the relatively large gaps between parts, you may need to apply a generous amount of adhesive; fast‑setting glue is highly recommended.

I’m sorry to say that, given my limited skill level, the part separation results aren’t exactly ideal. All I can guarantee is that the pieces will fit together—but the gaps are quite noticeable. My technical abilities are still somewhat limited, my thinking can be a bit rigid, and my techniques remain somewhat rough due to lack of practice. But I’m committed to improving, and I’ll keep working hard to deliver better results next time!
