My wife loves Halloween and dressing up. She has acquired many Venetian masquerade masks and needed a way to store and display them. So, I came up with a simple display holder that holds the mask through the eye slits. In addition there is a crown above the holder so that the mask doesn't ‘lean backwards’ and fall off. (I've found at least in the collection that my wife has that Venetian masks tend to be top heavy and lean backwards when grasped by the eyes. I also made the mount to stand off about 8 cm (3 inches) from the wall to account for curvature and side ornaments such as feathers.

There is accommodation for a countersunk #6 wood or drywall screw (sorry, my local hardware store only stocks hardware in freedom units). You have easy access for mounting through the hole in the front with a long screwdriver.

What I did was buy some 1"x3" wood and mounted them to the board and added a eyelet to the end of the board to hang from. This allows four of the masks to be displayed but by taking down the mounting board off the wall hook the masks are still readily accessible.
